Given the plethora of problems that amount to crises, the only effective solution is to END THE EMPIRE, not just in our minds, but actually. In order to get to the question of HOW, we must first of all come to an agreement that this is the goal. THE…

Cynthia McKinney's Remarks at the Emergency Anti-Afghanistan Escalation Rally

Cynthia McKinney
Emergency Anti-Afghanistan Escalation Rally
December 12, 2009

My fellow Americans,

Millions of us are drinking dirty and contaminated water;

4 million of us will get foreclosure notices by the end of this year;

25 million of us are un- or underemployed;

47 million of us have no health insurance and millions more are under-insured. My aunt was killed by the health care system in this country, not because she didn’t have insurance—she did. What she didn’t get was quality care… Continue

Is President Obama's Surge A Trap?

Is President Obama’s Surge A Trap?
By Cynthia McKinney | December 2, 2009

Last night, President Obama announced both his decision to add 30,000 U.S. troops to the mire in Afghanistan and his desire to see other countries and N.A.T.O. match his surge. Thanks to U.S. taxpayers, mercenaries will continue to be a part of the foreign presence in Afghanistan. The Republicans support the President’s move and are expected to reward President Obama with the bulk of their Congressional votes to pass his… Continue

Shame on Press Calling President Obama's Afghanistan Plan an "Exit Strategy"

Many in the special interest press are cynically reporting the President's speech tonight as an "Afghanistan exit plan." We have now reached the point where those who make and interpret current events think they can make us believe that war is for peace, ignorance is strength, slavery is freedom, and lies are the truth. Well, we know the truth, and we will not rest until every drone is stopped and no more bombs are dropped. We will not rest until peace is won. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said th… Continue

Cynthia McKinney's Letter to President Obama re Afghanistan Escalation (Surge)

Mr. President:

I am writing to urge you to announce an immediate cease-fire followed by a withdrawal of all US troops from Iraq and Afghanistan in the fastest way consistent with the safety of our forces.

I urge you to end the use of Predator drones that kill civilians.

I call upon you to cease all covert operations in Africa, Asia, and North and South America.

Too many of your military advisors are implicated in torture, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and crimes against the peace. You… Continue

Friends at Dignity,
I think this Oakland to D.C. bike trip is an excellent way to connect with, and see, the country - I hope and anticipate you will be including a "chautauqua" circuit all along the way! In 2000 I biked (pulling a bike trailer) up the Washington State coast to British Columbia and then (since the Fall weather was threatening) biked from Arcada, CA. to Santa Cruz - I voted by mail from Mendocino, Green of course!

I had the opportunity to serve this year as the Green Party of Texas's Legislative Liaison, now a county co-chair and newly elected at-large executive committee member - I have tremendous respect for Cynthia's work and travels promoting peace and justice; and if good fortune shines and logistics are agreeable before July it will be an honor for me to join for part or the whole journey!

One last note, I have accepted the invitation of - and by consensus vote the delegates at the TX Green Party convention have joined - the Regional Director of the Gray Panthers, following his mentorship we have begun a campaign to direct attention to the necessity to tackle Election Reform as the ONE issue that ALL other issues distill down to: We need to reinstate self-governance instead of being controlled by the corporate oligarchy and duopoly!
Love and salutations of peace to you all,
Bill

Dearest Sister Cynthia, it is with real sorrow that i hear the sad news about your Auntie. This whole Healthcare mafia can do some really terrible things.

There is no such thing as "healthcare" in US, essentially, but a humongous moneymaking machine. That is one of the reasons why we do the things we do.

You and your Family are in my prayers, Always.

One Land, One Love,

Fatima

Hi, I am glad to know you are safe and your son is thinking political thoughts in a day when most youth are not.

Please have him read my blog on your dignity site. It's a simple opinion; not an Orwellian tract like your incisive missives.

Hi Cynthia! I had a lot of problems with my PC lately. I got so bad that I had to call a technician. He found a lot of bad stuff that my anti-virus couldn't detect.

It must have been quite an experience in Gaza! I heard about it after I came back from vacation. What is wonderful is that despite all difficuties, you still did it. How I would have loved to be on this boat. It is one of my dreams to go to Palestine, write about what happens on the spot and then try to convince the Canadian govt to stop feeding this monster.
Unfortunately, I am living on a meager disability pension and could'n afford the fare. Maybe one day....
I will write you more about who I am in an email.... I have been doing this for almost 8 years, and I want you to know how I became involved.
I admire your courage and your guts woman! You gotta be the most honest American politician! God bless you for all your good work!
In solidarity,
Ayah
